It takes about 20 seconds to expand it in the Windows Explorer sidebar but no problems otherwise. If you do have a bad sector, defrag or scandisk should find it. nods:: Nope. :( Normal scandisk won't. You'd have to choose the 'Thorough' option. This was the 'Best' feature of Explorer.. I cannot believe it's not been included in 'xp' , surely i must be doing something wrong.. Thanks ... Fred I don't have XP, buit IIRC, it was View, Thumbnails or View, Preview. That changes the view in the main window, not in the sidebar to the left.

That glassy look, more so with the Sidebar running, is superb - the best cosmetic job Microsoft have ever done (imo)! .... I don't like it - the new Windows Explorer, I mean. Oh, you get used to it - but it's too much of the same. Making everything web is like losing the seperation between work and home.
